About The Artist
Ashleigh Chadwick has been creating art her entire life. Her skills include graphic design, web design, chemical photography, digital photography, 3d modeling, and much more. She is known for creating designs that are appealing to the eye. While much of her work shows beauty, some of it also addresses harsher truths.
Ashleigh held an art show at Bridgewater College in May 2008. It portrayed images of a town, Centralia, PA, which is being ecologically destroyed by a 40 year old underground mine fire.
The college gave her the honor of receiving the Paul and Betsy Kline Purchase Award for one of her pieces. When asked about the subject she chose for this show, she stated:
"If I'm going to make art my entire life, I don't see the point in always making something pretty to just hang on the wall. I have plenty of time to make that kind of art. I wanted to use my artistic voice to bring awareness to an issue, that if addressed, will help make the world a better place for future generations."
